COMPANY HISTORY
- 1918 - Marshalltown Manufacturing was established in Marshalltown, Iowa
to manufacture gauges and shears.
- 1964 - ELTRA CORP. purchased Marshalltown Manufacturing. ELTRA combined
its thermometry department with Marshalltown Manufacturing when they moved
it from Port Huron, Michigan.
- 1983 - DESCO Corporation purchased what is now Marshalltown Instruments
and moved the company to Hastings, Nebraska.
- 1988 - DESCO purchased Marsh Instrument Co. of Skokie, Illinois and consolidated
it with the Marshalltown products lines in Hastings, NE.
- 1995 - DESCO moved Marsh/Marshalltown's gauge division to Marsh Bellofram
Corp. in Newell, West Virginia, leaving the thermometry department and a
needle valve product line in Hastings.
- 1999 - Garry Phillips and Larry Choate purchased the solid thermometry
division from Marsh Bellofram and formed Tempco, Inc.
- February 2000 - Garry Phillips and Larry Choate purchased the vapor product
line from Marsh Bellofram to expand Tempco, Inc.
- February 2006 - Larry Choate became sole proprietor of Marshalltown-Tempco
Inc.
